Juan Felipe Pardo Correa and Carlos Gustavo Fernández Ostor created in 2003 the musical duo SHISHAJA. These two musicians artists seek to convey a message through experimentation in studio with field recordings.

 

Shishaja, has managed to find in these expressions of traditional music the fundamentals to develop a strong proposal that exalt the feelings of human beings through the rediscovery of nature and ancestral visions. Through atmospheres, rhythms and harmonies that carry healing and positive music.

 

Enseñanza, the second album of Shishaja published in 2007 was based on the songs of the healer Miguel Chuña, a shaman & taita in the Ronda community in the Colombian Amazon Basin. The shaman shared with them his musical and spiritual understanding of how he and the inherent forces in the environment act, which are personified when the sacred medicine of ayahuasca is taken in ceremony. Their songs are a communication with the cosmos, a way to cure and heal, establishing a dialogue with Mother Nature and the spirits that inhabit in it.

 

New perspectives and horizons are sought to transcend and engage in communication with parallel and different realities, which is why SHISHAJA and AL.VIVERO come together in this artwork that contains research and exploration of ancestral wisdom, stories, myths and legends to deliver tribute to the life and tradition. All paintings are the master piece of Alfredo Vivero (Al.Vivero) in his life’s work: America Magia Mito y Leyenda.
